The coated tablets of Arginotri-B ® were used to treat hepatic insufficiency. The drug contained the amino acid L-arginine and three vitamins B1 (thiamine), B6 (pyridoxine), and B12 (hydroxocobalamin). The drug helped to ameliorate regulation of liver metabolism and to reduce a liver dysfunction. Arginotri-B® was presented as a liver-protecting agent, hence the illustration of a Vauban-type fortress surrounding the organ for a total protection of the liver cell. The drug was also prescribed to treat pain, notably neuralgia and to combat nutritional troubles. But the primary indications of the product were the treatment of liver damages and insufficiencies. Arginotri-B is no longer on the market today but similar products containing arginine and vitamins can be found.
