The drug Calcibronat® was indicated to treat mild sleep disorders, irritability and nervousness. It contained an oral bromocalcic speciality (calcium bromogalactogluconate) used as a sedative agent, useful to reduce anxiety. The active principle provided a mild calming and sedative effect. The drug, formulated as oral effervescent tablets, was classified as a sedative agent with anxiolytic properties. Today, tablets containing the same active principle can be found to help relieve sleep disturbances, or to reduce irritability and nervousness. The drug remains occasionally prescribed.
