The drug Denoral was used to treat rhinitis, notably allergic rhinitis in adults. There was two pharmaceutical forms: oral tablets and a syrup mainly for children. The drug associated three active principles: (1) chlocinizine (also known as chlorcinnazine), a chlorinated analogue of cinnarizine, acting as a H1 antihistaminic agent. It is a calcium channel blocker; (2) buzepide methiodide (also known as diphexamide methiodide) acting as a cholinergic antagonist and an antispasmodic agent; (3) pholcodine, an opioid anti-tussive agent. The drug was used as a respiratory decongestant and an antispasmodic product.
